J I Packer- Knowing God

“No doubt it is true that the subject of divine wrath has in the past been handled speculatively, irreverently, even malevolently. No doubt there have been some who have preached of wrath and damnation with tearless eyes and not pain in their hearts. No doubt the sign of small sects cheerfully consigning the whole world, apart from themselves, to hell has disgusted many. Yet if we would know God, it is vital that we face the truth concerning his wrath, however unfashionable it may be, and however strong our initial prejudices against it. Otherwise we shall not understand the gospel of salvation from wrath, nor the propitiatory achievement of the cross, nor the wonder of the redeeming love of God”

Sharing Blessings

I really feel blessed and I feel the movement of Great proportion going on in Christ's Church. We had been searching for quite some time for a Church that would preach and teach from the Bible. This may not seem like a big feat for some, but in our area it was. This journey was a long one,but as we look back to where God had taken us through,He was Glorified and we gained wisdom. But through it all there was Peace-Psalm 52:55-Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
There was discouragement, sadness, and pity involved. But looking back I get blessed everytime. The sadness, discouragement and pity were necessary for us to grow in Him.Isaiah 40:31-Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
We don't have to lean on our own undertanding-Psalm 147:5-Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.

My blessings are from the people in our Church family-our new Church Family-We have found a home where the thirst is quenched and the Truth is spoken! That the Love of God abounds with God's Word abounding!!I feel so very loved by my Savior!I cannot express the Joy.Oh I Know,my journey is not done.
I hope to know my Lord more everyday, and to be so severely grateful He saved me!!Psalm 40:2-He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
Our new Church is growing just in recent months and the common thread that we hear from our fellow believers is "I am so excited, the Truth is being taught here"-The Joy in their faces and tears on my face, testify to the fact that our Father brought us together- This blesses us because this is our story and our journey. The excitement and the joy!!The faces of long journeys that have been traveled for a purpose, for His Glory!!We do pray for the Church and we do see the divisions but we know the apostles had division also-Romans 16 :17-Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
We see the people turning away from the teaching of mans ways and turning toward Biblical teaching, God's ways! And we know that our Lord is keeping watch and we can trust Him with our All and All!!-Ephesians 6:18-With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.
Hebrews 3:6-but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house-- whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end

Sharia Law-Christians Persecuted in America

When I saw this at first,I was not digesting that this was happening in America.I honestly thought that we were not apart of the persecution that was affecting the Church around the world. But that is not the case, it is coming and more than ever we must stand. We must stand on the Word of God.Not in our ideals or our idea of fairness, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!!John 15:18-If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
I do not want to be afraid, but sometimes the fear tries to creep in.I want to be where, there is no fear left in me!I have peace that only comes from God,but I do feel uneasy about what is ahead. Not that I fear what is ahead, but that I know it could be very, very rough and I want to be so strong in the Lord ,that I will not falter.I would love to attend the Revival Conference coming up,put on by Sermonindex, but am not able. But everyday I pray earnestly for the Revival!!A Supernatrual Revival that only God can manifest.
This may sound really silly-but I am so grateful for the economic woes that are upon my family right now.I can see God doing a work in our family that is growing us immensly.James 1:2-Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials. And I do so much consider it Joy!!Praise God!!
In his wisdom, for His glory,I must quench my thirst in Christ only-John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
All that we endure on this earth is temporal and our Father knows our needs and supplies them. And our definition of our needs is not always our Father's.That we have accepted this for our family, and been grateful. We have found ourselves content.
Stand fellow Christians-Ephesians 6:14-Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

For what comes ahead our Father has full knowlegde and our Peace is in him-John 20-21 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

I am Desperate For You Jesus

God-centered or Man-centered? A.W Tozer

God-centered or Man-centered?
"Christianity today is man-centered, not God-centered. God is made to wait patiently, even respectfully, on the whims of men. The image of God currently popular is that of a distracted Father, struggling in heartbroken desperation to get people to accept a Saviour of whom they feel no need and in whom they have very little interest. To persuade these self-sufficent souls to respond to His generous offers God will do almost anything, even using salesmanship methods and talking down to them in the chummiest way imaginable. This view of things is, of course, a kind of religious romanticism which, while it often uses flattering and sometimes embarrasing terms in praise of God, manages nevertheless to make man the star of the show.

Humanism

“Humanism is, I believe, the most deadly and disastrous of all the philosophical stenches that’s crept up through the grating over the pit of Hell. It has penetrated so much of our religion. And it is in utter and total contrast with Christianity! Unfortunately, it’s seldom seen.”
– Paris Reidhead

Luther

If you are at all interested in the Reformation, this movie is a must see.About how historically accurate-I am not clear, but I do know it does try to highlight the Passion and Power of God.Which is not always the case in Hollywood.

Worldliness-A.W Tozer

Timothy 6:1-16

All who are under the yoke as slaves are to regard their own masters as worthy of all honor so that the name of God and our doctrine will not be spoken against. 2 Those who have believers as their masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but must serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.
3 If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. 6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
